    Post Bad Flash, Bad!

I do not have a problem with it right now but I am wondering what happens if you flash the bios and it does not work? What can be done to fix it?

If you have a look further back in this forum about a week or so ago, there is full explanations for both AMI & Award recovery sequences

You can pray that whatever deity you worship chooses to have mercy on your soul and allow you to recover it.

I've actually managed to "hot-swap flash" an Asus K7M, by booting a good K7M board, slowly pulling the BIOS EPPROM out and putting the bad one in it SLOWLY and flashing with a good BIOS. I was lucky it worked, but I don't think I have the testicular fortitude to try it again. Not worth the risk of having TWO dead boards.

    Thumbs up

Thanks windrivers for supplying that supplement about bios fixes - I printed it off straight away. My usual answer to this problem was to replace the bios chip with another one off the same type of motherboard - I have done this succesfully in the past (I used to work for a pc wholesaler so we had plenty of mbs)
But in saying that - I do feel sorry for anyone that gets caught in this situation.
