outlook express issues

Hello

I have a computer which I gave to my mother with Windows ME on it and she is unable to acess e-mail from Outlook Express, The inbox has about twenty messages however Outlook Express will not allow me to open them.

Is there any suggestions about any software that could repair it automatically that is very user friendly???

Need to tell us 'more' please .. just what happens if you try to open the mails ?

Nothing you "double click" and it will not open the e-mail. The messages are in the inbox but you cannot access them I have never seen anything like this before

Try creating a new identity and import the messages into the new identity. click on file, identities, add new identity, type a name, select "yes" when asked if you want to switch to the new identity, you can cancel the email account setup if you want, in the new identity go to file, import, messages, select your version of OE "THE PREVIOUS STEPS WERE FOR OE 6" select the identity with the messages, click "OK", click "NEXT", click on the "INBOX" or leave "ALL FOLDERS" selected, click on "NEXT", click on "FINISH".

You should now see the same emails in the inbox, try opening them, if they open then the other identity is corrupt, import the email account and use the new identity.
