    Question SATA or IDE?

I had assumed that as Evesham seemed to be offering only SATA at least on their online configurator that was what I had to order. However I had a chat with one of their support techs today and he said if I place my order by phone I can have what I like and he recommended IDE, saying that SATA was faster but more expensive. Unless the price gap is really great that is not a problem.

Now I have two problems, one disc or two see my previous thread and SATA or IDE? He said the actual m/bd configuration such as RAID capability etc would depnd on what sort of disc I choose, now I am really confused.

The price difference usually minimal. Go with SATA.

Thanks. Price is not the first consideration but SATA is the latest technology and IDE is getting old but I just wondered about issues with SATA but I guess that is another learning curve for me to take on board

If you go with a high end Raptor drive or something similar you'll pay out the wazoo. But if you just get a standard SATA hard drive the price difference shouldn't be more than a few dollars.
