Exclamation Windows Not Loading CD-ROM Drivers

I deleted EasyCD Creator the other day because it kept hanging up while loading CD's to record. Note: I have done this in the past..... After doing this I went back into the program after I re-installed it and it told me there were no devices installed on the computer. I then went into the device manager and saw them with ( ! ) next to them and this statetment - This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31) - I have tried everything to get them back operational. I am running Windows 2000 Professional SP4. I tried a windows repair thinking this would do it...NOPE. I tried to install universal drivers from floppy...NOPE. I have tried driver updates from the internet...NOPE. By the way, in the driver details in the device manager, they seem to be there, if so, then what is the problem?? Please anyone - someone help me. I require my CD-ROM burners for my DJ business.

You can try to disconnect the burners, and then let Windows to make changes in drivers config. Then connect drives back on by one and see if Windows will install drivers properly... Sometimes changing jumpers on CD-Drives to can also help...

    Smile CD-ROM Drivers

Thanks for responding. I got them running by deleting 2 key strings in the registry that were causing a block to the windows driver boot-up sequence. Also thanks for the welcome.

I'm having the same problem. What 2 key strings in the registry did you delete?
