[RESOLVED] system frezzing when i try to open large window

when I open any program into a large screen my system frezzes and i have to reboot. everthing else works fine except when i try to max. a window

Did you recently install any applications, software etc... anything at all?

yes??
i installed red alert (comand and conquer)
i have uninstalled it but no change to the fault
could it be something to do with my screen res.
if i use the key boards for everthing nothing frezzes (yet???)
