Problem with SoundMax on my Compaq NC6000
Hi!
I have a Compaq NC6000 laptop with the SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio card. I recently got my laptop shell replaced and ever since then I get no sound on my machine.
I tried downloading the latest driver software from the manufacturer, but each time I try to install it, I get prompted for a file called "drmk.sys" (which I have the latest version of) when i provide that file, the installation fails saying driver was not found, please re-install the driver. I also tried getting another copy of the file from a colleague (thinking that file maybe corrupt) but that also does not work
I have tried many methods to un-install and re-install the sound card from Device manager but nothing seems to work. This also has my company's tech support stumped.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
