 Problems with Via 133A and P3 533 EB Slot 1
Heres the specs: Soyo SY6VBA133 PC133 128meg cas3 infineon memory (running at cas3) 2) 10 gig Maxtor hard drives Acer CDRW, Asus V7100 MX AGP card,Hayes 56K Hardware modem, SB PCI 512. Dual boot WINME and Win2Kpro, all drivers and bios upto date.
Here is the problem: Lately I have been getting Random Windows protection errors in WINME and Random Reboot in WIN2K running at default 533MHZ at 133 FSB. Seems to happen more when on the Web using modem in both OS's and also when burning CD's in Win2K (not a good thing). There are no conflicts in either OS and ACPI is disabled. Any ideas or should I as my father says "Chuck it in the river."

If the system had been running a while before this in both OSes and was stable then would suggest 2 things just to see if they are it.
1) It appears you are saying you have two sticks of ram? If so, pull one of the sticks of ram out and just run it with 128megs for awhile. If it still BSODs then try just the other one. You might also want to try running the RAM at100 mhz for awhile.
2) Run the CPU at 100mhz. Basically underclock it to see if the CPU is marginal.

1 stick 128meg, 2 hard drives. I swapped the memory out this morning. Haven't had any time to test it though. You suggested running at 100 MHZ do you mean to run the CPU at 100MHZ FSB or the memory at 100MHZ and still run the CPU at 133 FSB?

New ram didn't fix problem nor down scaling to 100 MHZ FSB. The only other thing I can think of is a new CAD program I installed about 4 days ago but have removed it since.
Any other suggestions?

1)Random reboots sound like power supply under voltage.
2)Win protect errors can be caused by a failing cpu (shocked, physical damage).
3)I've seen both problems caused by malfuntioning motherboard.

I had thought about a power supply problem and will pick up a new 300 watt today.

Installed new Powersupply, So far so good.
