Cmos Access
i recently aquired a dud compaq amada 1750 laptop. after running all the checks, i found all i needed was a new HDD. after installing it, i ran fidisk, forgetting to set up the new HDD in cmos...... how do i get in?
i get as far as the name "COMPAQ" appearing and then
"Non-System disk or disk error
replace and strike any key when ready"
Nothing in the a:/ and nothing in d:/
help me?
how do i get in to cmos?

Try pressing the F1, or F2 or F10 when you first see the compaq logo.

ok, thanks pc man, but that didn't work,, any other ideas please???
is this normal? to not see the mem test?
i also reset the cmos battery.... did that make it worse? you reckon?

YEE BLOODY HA! I FOUND THE PROBLEM!
I DIDN'T SEAT MY HDD IN THE HDD HOSING CASE (forgot the proper name)
BUT YEAH, I GOT A LAPTOP FOR $90 AND A SMALL HEADACHE!
