Exchange 5.5 Can't send email: (000B09AA) 501 Syntax error in parameters or arguments
Hi,
I recently changed the name on a mailbox and now it cannot send mail. This is the only user that has this problem. When the user tries to send mail, he gets the following error:
3501 (000B09AA) 501 Syntax error in parameters or arguments
I have removed the Exchange account from his computer via Mail Control Panel and readded it to no avail.
I have also double checked to make sure the mailbox is associated with the correct NT account.
I'm running Exchange 5.5 Service Pack 4 and Windows 2000 Server Service Pack 4.
What's the next step in troubleshooting?
Thanks for your help.

I don't know what might be causing this, but most likely your quickest solution is going to be exporting the users mailbox and recreating the users account.

Exporting folders to new user
Thanks for the feedback.
Is there an easy way to move a users calendar, tasks, contacts and mail to a new user?

Solution Found
Turns out the default return address was set to an invalid email address. I forgot to put the .com at the end of the domain. I hope this information will help some googler in the future.
