[RESOLVED] win98 install problem still
don't know where my last post went to!
i removed all my cards except for the video card did a fdisk and format and then reinstalled win98 and it still stops at the screen just before it goes to the desktop so i guess that wasn't it.
any one got any ideas?????
tyan trinity s1598s atx
1.6 gig covair hd
trident video card
cyber/drive 44xspeed cdrom
64 meg of pc100 ram

can you get safe mode? if so sounds like windows setup failed to see either your hd or video card, but you may be able to correct this in safe mode

If it does go in to safe mode I think you might have a bum video card. It is failing right before you go in to a high res mode and that could be showing that you have bad video ram on you card. Especially if you do not have any other components plugged in. But more info would be nice. What CPU is it and are you getting any errors when it crashes or just a black screen?
