    Post bootlog.txt

    Can anyone tell me if this is normal: when i open c:\windows\bootlog.txt , all my fonts fail to load...

    a typical line in this txt file is:
    LoadStart = C:\WINDOWS\fonts\ARIALBD.TTF
    LoadFail = C:\WINDOWS\fonts\ARIALBD.TTF Failure code is 0016

    is this a problem? I was looking at these kind of files because my computer started locking up once in a while, and I would have no choice but to press the reset button.

    All your fonts fail? sounds like the folder is damaged, if I remember rightly if you install tweakui from the windows cd, there is a tool in this to repair the folder. if this explanation is too vague mail me & i'll send you better instructions

    I had the same problem and solved it by selecting fast boot. So, this doesn't really fix it just avoids the problem. I am able to generate a bootlog.txt file by selecting option 2 when booting but I am not able to automatically generate the bootlog.txt file by editing the mydos.sys file and inderting the line diablelog=0

    Is this suppose to work or not, seems a bit confusing.

    Lastly I am running a win98 machine 400megahertz with 512 meg of ram. My boot time is about 75 seconds. Any ideas about how to crash the minute mark? The system spens a little time checking the 512 meg of ram. Is this really needed?

    Font Failures

    After you first start Windows, the Bootlog.txt file may list many font load failures. This behavior is typical. When Font Manager searches the hard disk for fonts, it may find fonts in several folders. After Font Manager finds fonts, it records the information so that future attempts to locate a font proceed more quickly.
