Power supply?
I've gotten tired of supposedly high power power supplies going belly up.I have a Soyo Dragon 880 Motherboard with an AMD barton 3200+ and 1gig of ddr 400 ram. I have 3 Western Digital WD800JB drives, 2 of which are connected to the SATA ports with Highpoint Rocket adaptors. I also have a Maddog Dual layer dvd burner as well as a DVD reader and a CD reader. The latest power supply, supposedly 680 watt capacity died. I am looking at the PC Power & Cooling 510 Turbo Cool Delux. I have heard good reviews about it. Do you think it will do the job. by the way, I have a total of six fans in the box, including the CPU and northbridge fans.

From my use, I can highly recommend OCZ, Antec and Enermax as very reliable PSU's.

I'll go with all of those .. what's important in a psu isn't its peak rating (that's what the 680 watt in the opening post is refering to) but its ability to maintain voltage consistently & you only get that with 'quality' components. Not to say all 'cheapo' psu's are bad, but methinks your chances of getting a 'duffer' are much increased .
As a side note :- if you are using what you might think of as a 'reasonable' psu & you keep blowing them up (PSU's that is) think about checking for new motherboard bios. Many modern boards have delay mechanisms built into them in an effort to reduce peak load, i.e. they switch on all the internal devices with a fractional delay each to lower any sudden surges .. very often they don't get it quite right (especially if you have lots of stuff !) - I have found that some boards just can't support all the permissable 'connectables' no matter what you do.

Power supply
I ended up going with the Antec Truecontrol II 510 power supply. I didn't really need the adjustable voltages, but the control panel looks cool. The Soyo board has the latest bios, and is, in fact, a fairly recent board. It appears to be definately in the upper scale of socket A boards.
