    Red face sempron2200+/abit kd7-e

I bought a used abit motherboard, trying to use a sempron 2200 processor. I have had various problems trying to set is motherboard up with other processors. So if I'm going to go to steps all want to use the sempron. It has a 1500mhz 333fsb rateing. In the motherboard bios you can manually set up the clock speed and multiplier. You can also set up the voltage input. But no matter what I do when the post screen comes up it shows Athlon 960 recognizes memory and under that memory clock speed DDR200 in dark bold type.also I am using 256 ddr 333 elixir(1 stick) memory. I can use all the help I can get to get this system up and running. Thank you John R.

Change "CPU Disconnect Function" default setting.
    Add AMD Duron 1400(133)/1600(133)/1800(133) support.
Fix the issue that the system occasionally hangs at post code 26 if the system is using 133/166 FSB CPU and the power was turned off during boot up procedure when the post code is AE.
Change the BIOS of HPT 372 to version 2.34 for 48-bit LBA support (HDD size larger then 137GB). The RAID function is for KD7-RAID only. This BIOS version is also for non-RAID boards and HPT BIOS will be automatically disabled while RAID controller chip is not detected.
    BIOS compile date: 08/28/2003
From what I've read up on the Abit website, there is no semperon support for this motherboard Sorry.

I gave him the notion ... In this one -here

I said it was possible (which it is) to set up an 'unknown' cpu (by the cpu autosense function) if all the appropriate options are available in bios (maybe not recommended as you need to be very careful about getting everything 'bang on' especially voltage).

Most likely here jofultner needs to be looking in bios for entries which control the speed of memory or maybe a jumper since he's rebooted a few times & it keeps coming up saying 'ddr 200'.

(most likely there is a bios option or jumper, but without an example of this board to hand to actually look at, I can't guarantee that you can do this for sure).

Believe it or not after a week of pulling my hair out and resetting bios to factory specs.I realized that after making changes in the bios if colleges clicked a computer on and off several times from the button that it would boot, beep and display and then on to bigger and better things. Like installing Windows XP professional and moving on to my next nightmare project. I thank you for all the input and help my fellow builders have provided. Thank you John R.
