Canon BJC 5500
Hi
After searching and trying lot ( when i say LOT it is LOT ) of drivers, I finally could find one which made my printer ( Canon BJC 5500 ) work under Windows XP.
The only problem I have now is that I never could make this printer to print in continuous paper in CAD software... (AutoCad)
I know that I should point this request to Autodesk Inc. but I know this is nothing related with it...
So, does any1 know something ( a hack, a hidden driver, program, etc. ) which could make my printer to print continuous paper in Autocad (any version) ?
Also, I'd like to know which others printers are compatible with my Canon BJC 5500. Maybe if I try these compatibles drivers, I can make this work...
thanks a lot, and hope your answer/help.

Welcome to WinDrivers, hmoner.
Does XP's own driver for that printer not provide the facility?

Try here:
http://consumer.usa.canon.com/ir/con...9&modelid=6753
It has drivers listed for Win2000. Usually, these are also compatible with WinXP but no guarantees there.
Let us know if it works for you. Good Luck!

DonJ may perhaps be suggesting to try the BJC5000 Win2k driver, but I don't know if it's close enough to do the job, and Canon only say the driver may give limited functionality under XP.
Given that Canon Australia say XP's own BJ library covers the BJC5500, I'd still be interested to know if the XP driver lacks the features people need.

From that link provided above, click on the link for Product/Software Manuals. Your User's Manual is available in .pdf format.
As for your Waste Ink Error :
Your printer has a built-in waste ink tank for the ink used during print head cleaning. As time goes by, the waste ink tank gradually fills. When the waste ink tank is nearly full, you should receive a "Waste ink warning" error when you print. Press the RESUME button on the printer to cancel the error so you can continue printing. Before the waste ink tank becomes completely full, have the waste ink tank replaced. For service option details, please contact the Customer Care Center. Once the waste ink tank is full, you will not be able to print until the waste ink tank is replaced.
You can find Supplies & Accessories here:
http://consumer.usa.canon.com/ir/con...2&modelid=6753
There is a Color Ink Tank and a Black Ink Tank available for purchase.

Windows XP operating system has its own builtin driver for canon bjc-5500 printer. Just go to printer & faxes, then start with add a printer and follow the next steps finally choose Canon bjc-5500 from the list. This will solve all your problems.
