Have a user when he opens up certain PDF files from a Cd or on his hard drive there is a link he can click on that says print and when we do this to open the PDF we get "Your current security settings do not allow this file to be down loaded"

It brings the PDF up with in IE 6
and when you click on a certain link we get this.

Jsigmon - if he opens acrobat first, then opens the pdf from within acrobat, do you get the same problem?

Notwithstanding Noo's question above .. the 'straight fix' for this I'd guess would be :-

Your current security settings do not allow this file to be downloaded.

CAUSE
The security settings of your Web Browser may be set to High.

RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, reduce the security settings of your Web browser:

To change the security setting in Internet Explorer 6.0:
1. In the browser's Tools menu, select Internet Options.
2. In the Internet Options dialog box, click the Security tab.
3. In the "Select a Web content zone..." control, click the Internet icon.
4. In the "Security level for this zone" area, move the slider to Medium.
5. Click OK.

& I should imagine if he uses acrobat to open it, it won't do the same, but will happily open it? We'll see in a bit I guess ..

If I understand you correctly, you open the pdf file but could not print it. If you downloaded the file then you got the message then I would think it is not from your browser security settings.

Is the file protected against printing? You could verfy that in the document info: click file, from document info select security. It should show what actions are permitted. If you read printing not allowed, then this is it. You will need a password to print it.
