    Using cell as wirless modem

I live in the caribean (no warm jokes) and i have a cellphone account(gsm) which i get free wap/web access; so i can brows the net on my 6230. And i have a pda 1940 i think; no blue tooth jus infrared. What i want to do is be able to allow my pda to dial a connection through my cellphone so i can browse the net on the pda, i did it before on a laptop using my old nokia but i dont remember how, and am with a differnt cell service provider. And no tech support with them is a waste of time, am supposed to meet a tech ina few days time aside from his job to help me out. but want to try on my own, i neeeeeeeeeeeeed help

As I recall (I've done this once), you need to install the modem drivers on your PDA, from the Nokia Software CD, then when the modem is detected by the PDA (Via Infrared) you can use it to dial up for web access.

GSM phone use GPRS, when you set up your phone, you need to make sure you are using this method (not dial-up), you may also need to use a different acccess point then what your phone's WAP browser uses. Tech support should atleast give you these configurations.

the GSM network is encoded in such a way that analog modem signals cannot travel across it, this was however possible on the old TDMA network. So don't try to dial up a service provider for regular internet

Yea thanx i figured it out on my own last night after reading and reading and seeing some dsl configurations on my pc, apparently i needed a special int string, and i use the dns server of my own dsl service to get through. dont know if its correct, but does work. Now what i need to know, if i set up a vpn network with my computer; cell pda combo. can i get the net from my pc?
