Another Fatality (3)
Sorry to bother the forum so much, but I'm a bit new to this and just read the notice from the administrators advising me to post as much information about my system as possible. Here's what I use:
Intel Celeron 400aMHZ 128K cache
Quantum SE/CR4300 4.36 IDE Harddrive
Mata****a 589/588B 32x IDE internal CD-Rom
Asus P2B-F P-11 440BX 5PCI/2ISA 4-DIMM
And I use pre-upgrade win '98
The message, "fatal exception at 0167:Bff8cc04" appears only after the "windows is shutting down" screen has disappeared. I have not seen this type of "fatal exception" catalogued anywhere.

here is where you can find a checklist to check for even before trying to search for the specific error
http://support.microsoft.com/support.../q149/9/62.asp
Hope it works

If it is only on shut down then APM/ACPI is your problem area try looking at your Bios settings.
