No where, in the regedit did I find the file, folder, for this exe file listed in the startup. Heres what is in the start up:
    McAfeeWebScanX C:\PROGRAM FILES\NETWORK ASSOCIATES\MCAFEE VIRUSSCAN\WebScanX.exe

After getting hit with a virus that Mcafee didnot detect I switched to Nortons, so I uninstalled the Mcafee program, this line in the start up is the only thing left, as per your instruction there is nothing there. Thanks

The correct registry key is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run...also check run services etc. If it is not there, try HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Run. I would export the offending key before I deleted it...just to be safe.

Do a search in win.ini and/or sys.ini...located in the windows directory.
