Compatible CD-R/CD RW media for Plextor 716A
Plextor only lists recommended DVD+/- R/RW media. I sure would appreciate recommendations from any of you folks who have the Plextor 716A. These new drives are really fussy about media quality.

The most common recommendation I see is to ensure you get disks on Taiyo Yuden stock. Verbatim seem to get good reports on Plextor drives, including the 716A, but pretty much any brand can use varying media stock, Ritek is quoted as being a problem with this drive, Memorex seems to be a notable candidate for using Ritek media.

In addition to those mentioned above, I've used Imation DVD media on Plextor drives with no problems.
And with firmware updates from the manufacturers, they continuosly improve the drives handling of different media.

Thanks, Platypus and TechZ ... will give Taiyo Yuden a try for CD-R and CD RW.
