"The TV out port...is not working properly"
When using copy protected Region 2 DVD's on my PC, they have started playing a little slower than normal and a bit 'jerky' in picture and sound quality - this is with RealOne Player and Windows Media Player 10. Previously everything was fine. I cannot recall changing anything significant to cause a problem.
When trying to play the same DVD's using a PowerDVD program, I get an error message before the player willplay anthing:
"DVD ERROR
Error code: F4D41436
The TV Out port of your display card is not working properly."
When I pressed the tab for 'more details' it said
"This copy protected disc cannot be played when the TV Out function is enabled"
My question is this: How do I disable the TV Out function please? If replying please give me an idiot's step by step guide for I truly am an idiot.
* My display card is an NVIDEA GeForce2 MX/MX400; latest driver has been downloaded from Microsoft. No original disc came with the machine.
* Operating system: Windows XP
* Windows Media Player is Version 10

Why not try the Nvidia drivers:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_78.01.html
Also, the user's manual can be downloaded from the same website.

Thanks MadDog. I've downloaded and installed the driver. The problem with the 'TV out' thing has now been eradicated BUT the discs are still playing slower and still crackled sound and slightly jerky flow. Any suggestions?
cheers

should also have mentioned, the problems still occur on windows Media Player, PowerDVD AND RealOne Player so it isn't just a case of re-installing the programs.

Welcome to Windrivers 5jbs
Please tell us What windows you are using with what service pack
What software and version are you playing the DVD in
Does this happen with every DVD?
Does your video card have TV out of some description?
What video card do you have?
Has this message always been displayed when you play a DVD?
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."
