[RESOLVED] shortcuts do not open
after my kids used my pc all my shortcuts turned white with the windows symbol in the middle.when i try to create a new one i get a message unable to create shortcut but it puts one on my desktop that is also white and will not open.i have tried all my system checks can you please hellllllp?

you can try booting to safe mode and deleting the shelliconcache file...its hidden so you'll have to make sure you enable show all files in explorer...when you reboot the system the iconcache file should be regenerated....i'm not really sure this will fix the problem your having but its all i can think of

Have you tried to just do a "REFRESH" on the desk top? Also if you'll do a "RIGHT CLICK" on the "ICON" then scroll to the find target button and click, watch for the "APPLY button to light up (from gray word to black word) then click the apply, it should work then.
Also: Right click on the desk top, then properties, go to the Effects tab and click, Make sure that the ICON USE ALL COLORS box has a check mark in it, at the top click the DEFAULT ICON button,
By doing these three items should straighten out the problem! Have a good day!
