Lost Partition
I am running win xp. when I use the dos boot disc to boot to dos I can`t see my C: drive. That is not strictly true. It changes partition. I have C: as local disc and E is where my image is stored. This is the one dos can see. It changes from e: to c:. My original c is not there. So where has it gone? Everything is the same in windows. My computer shows c: d: and e: all where they are supposed to be. Windows dos shows my original c:
I hope my post is not too confusing.

Your C drive is using the NTFS file system. It is not viewable in DOS, that is perfectly normal.

If you need to see your NTFS partitions in "DOS" mode, use <a href="http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/NTFSDOS.shtml" target="_blank">NTFSDOS</a> or <a href="http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/ntfsdospro.shtml" target="_blank">NTFSDOS Pro</a>.
IMO, they should be part of every tech's utilities. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />
