    Can't set up wireless router

Hi, i have bought a Dlink DI-614+ wireless router last year but never set it up as i lot my internet for quite a few months, now i'm back on broadband i want to set up my wireless router so i can share the connection with the laptop. The problem is that in the set-up guide it tells you to set up the hardware then goto http://192.168.0.1 to do the set-up, only when i go to there it just says page not found, i'm not sure if they even have that running anymore or what, would anyone know a way i can set it up myself manually?

You have connected the wireless router to the desktop pc with a cross over network cable or a straight through one?

BTW have you sorted out your TV out problem? If so, please be kind enough to acknowledge the replies you have received or if not, please post further information.

It came with a straight-through cable.

With regards to the TV-out problem, that was with a different computer than the one i'm on now, and yes it was resolved, unfortunately just after that my ex-missus took the computer with her then i lost broadband as well, only just got a new PC 9months ago and got broadband back last week, forgot all about this forum actually until i saw it in the bookmarks on the laptop, heh

Ok a couple of things spring to mind - first of all a firewall - if you have xp you may have a firewall preventing connection.

Secondly you have connected the wan port to the broadband modem? You have put the straight through cable from one of the lan ports of the dlink to your computer lan connection?

Third you have your security settings in internet explorer too high and you need to allow the connection.

Fourth the login box has popped under the internet explorer window.

Fifth you have mistyped the address http://192.168.0.1 perhaps substituting a comma or a semicolon, or a single forward slash.

Sixth the ip address of the unit has been changed - use the reset button to reset to factory defaults.
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."
