    Question Users Need to relogin

For some reason users on my network (Windows 2000 Server) need to enter in there login credentials when the access a network share periodcially. When they try to access a network share or network printer they get the logon box and need to re-authenticate. Any ideas why this happends? Could it be a wiring problem on my network? Any help would be appreciated!

    Question Accessing netowork shares

For some reason users on my network (Windows 2000 Server) need to enter in there login credentials when the access a network share periodcially. I am using DHCP and an internal DNS. There is no problem getting an ip address. When they try to access a network share or network printer they get the logon box and need to re-authenticate. Any ideas why this happends? Could it be a wiring problem on my network? Any help would be appreciated!

If you map the drives does this happen? Is the network printer the default printer? What are the client oses?

If they are in a domain and getting that prompt make sure they are logging into the doamin when they first logon. It almost appears that they have failed to logon to the domain and are actually logged on locally so when they try to access the shares they have to authenticate.

They are logging on the domain, but when they access a server or printer they need to logon again. Its very wierd, could it be a wring problem in my network? Or where on the server can see if they are or are not getting authenticating.

If you go to one of the affected computers and log them off then logon again and see if it shows they are logging into the domain or locally. The logon screen should have the user name the password and domain field.
Event viewer might point to stuff as well, it would almost point to logged on locally with cached credentials.
