nec dvdrw nd-3520a
I have got an NEC DVD-RW ND-3520A drive installed. It plays DVD's ok and records dvd-r's and rw's ok. However, whenever I put in a blank CDRW the pc thinks the drive is a CD Rom only and will not allow any recording what so ever using any software. I have reason to believe that the driver got ruined when I installed a very cheap burning software which created a virtual drive. I have tried rolling back drivers and updating drivers to no avail. Can you help as I am on the brink of restoring the PC to return the drive to normal. I have an AMD 3000 processor, Windows XP, 1 GB ram. Anything else you need to know? Thanks for your time.

What burning software are you using for CD?
Have you looked at the "handy Stuff" thread at the top of the CD drive forum?

Aye try us with the results from the load order filter tool, this bit would seem to be the issue;-

Some remnant of this is probably hanging about interfering with matters, & welcome to windrivers forums ! .
