    APC UPS 650 and WinXP

    I have a APC UPS 650 and it is connected via the com1 port to WinXP. When I set the UPS up in Power Options the UPS forces XP to shutdown. I have tried disabling all options but after 5 minuits of uptime the messanger service prompts that the computer will be shutting down.

    Any idea why this is happening. I have tried this on multiple PCs with the same results and I do not have the APC Powerchute sw. It may be possible that powerchute would fix it.

    There is a UPS fix for XP on windows update... have you got that?
