BMP thumbnails in Explorer
Can I turn off the thumbnails in Explorer for graphics and video files? They waste too much time.

Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."

Its mainly BMP files that bother me, maybe PNG as well. It makes very small icons from them that is put at the left of the file names. After only going to a directory with them it reads the whole lot.

Did you try both things that were suggested?

I'm not using the thumbnail view. I want to stick to the details view but without the icons for BMP files and PNG possibly. Its also done for ICO files. If I use a directory with big scan files it spends ages reading and processing them all for icons.

Oh I see, you're wanting to disable the little picture object that windows uses to show what program that particular file is associated with. As far as I know....there is no way to turn that off.
