    my version of windows is dated 4.10.1998,
    which version is this?do i need a service
    pack,is there one available?

    You have the first version of Win 98 so now you get to buy WIndows 98 se or Windows ME promo step up
    Or just use Windows update and update what you have, I hope you have a broad band connection some of the files are large
