    Flickering Monitor

Hi, I have a 21 inch Dell monitor - D1626HT and it flickers every so often. I'm using it with Rage Fury Pro/Xpert 2000 Pro. Has anyone encountered this problem and is there a way I can fix it? I had the screen refresh rate set at 56 Hertz and I switched to 60 Hertz. This would help for a while before the flickering would start again so I jumped back to 56 Hertz and I've been going back and forth doing this but this is just short term. What i'm really looking for is a permanent fix.

Thanks for your help everyone. Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Craig

Hi cpuntillo, I have A hp monitor and had similar problem, don't know if it will work for your dell, but what I did was to go to hp site and downloaded an update for the monitor and it gave me the capability to go higher on the hrz I selected 85 via the display options, advance, monitor and it took care of my flickering .

casimiro is right. That Dell D1626HT is a CRT and you should increase the "Refresh Rate" to highest your monitor will permit. Setting it to 75Hrz or 85Hrz will take care of the flickering. (Display Properties > Settings > Advanced > Monitor ... and Apply).

It might also take care of the monitor 'good & proper'

Make sure first that whatever setting you choose, is permissable for your monitor, windoze may offer refresh settings far beyond the monitors capabilities & this may result in damage to your equipment..
