Connection problem.
Gateway 812 GM Media Center
WindowsXP media edition.
AMD Athlon 64 3200+
nVidia Geforce FX 5200
512 SDRAM
MSI MS-6741 MOBO
Connection speed 56K
IP provider: Walmart connect
When I disconnect and try to reconnect it dails out, connects to the server then I get this error "Remote Access Service error: The request is not supported." it then tries to connect again and continues to do so untill I cancel it. I have to reboot to be able to connect again.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling my connection software and it has not helped.

Geezer
Things to immediately try, would be to completely uninstall/reinstall your modem &/or try another ISP temporaily.
Since we have xp do you know how to use event viewer ? (if you didn't hopefully you will soon ) - are there any clues there ? ('interesting' to us geeky folks, will be items labelled 'error' or 'warning' anything noted as 'information' can probably be ignored for now..)

Said ****it and did a reinstall.
Tried to uninstall/reinstall modem, that did not work. Was not able to try a different ISP. Really could not figure the eventviewer out.
I had some other problems crop up so I just did a OS reinstall. Everything works just as it should.
Thanks for the help.
