"Don't try to teach pigs to sing. It wastes your time and annoys the pigs."
Beunos dias, Señor Calamar.
"Three singing pigs say LA LA LA!"

Ohhh! In that picture, there's also a Cow and a Lamb !!
My cue...
----
Claribell and Larry
Claribell, the cow, settled down for the night.
‘Quiet, isn’t it?’, said Larry the lamb.
‘Yes, lovely’, said Claribell,
‘I think I might dream tonight,
are you warm enough?’’
‘I’m fine’, said Larry, ‘nighty night’.
‘Sleep well’, said Claribell.
‘ZZZZZZZ’ was all that could be heard.
Then suddenly a knock on the door startled them.
‘What’s that?’ said Larry sleepily
‘I don’t know’, Claribell said, half-awake,
‘let’s go and see’.
They went to the door
and saw a man and woman
and a maid called Jane from the Inn.
Jane said, ‘Can you make room for two more,
the Inn’s rather full tonight?’
Claribell and Larry looked at each other,
‘Oh well, they sighed, if we have to….’
But they couldn’t sleep,
there was so much going on,
noises from Mary, Joseph pacing up and down,
Jane rushing to and from the Inn with water
and towels, then suddenly a baby was born!
Shepherds appeared looking a bit dazed,
people dropped by from the Inn,
three men from the East appeared bearing gifts.
Jane popped back again with cloths to cover the babe.
Claribell looked at Larry and said,
‘Can’t we have a bit of peace?’

The time has come the Walrus said
To speak of many things
Of padded posts and padded cods
And whether pigs can sing
Of those who walk Vancouver's streets
And puzzle what's in a name
Hung with gay asurdity
And mirth that's quite insane

Perhaps they are cooking up some that Christmas Padding, or is it a Plum Padding?

This thread seem largely to have been composed of lard or some lard-like substance, so perhaps it is suet padding that is being cooked up:

Methinks I joke about being upset ...
But the thought of Savoury Yorkshire Pudding, eww, can we have a Sweet one?
And this delightful little phrase sprang out in the Sea of Links, 'For some people, searching for the perfect pudding, is an unobtainable but enjoyable lifelong quest'.....
So I wonder what is THAT unobtainable but enjoyable lifelong quest?
I daren't put mine...
