Lexmark Printer Problem, Please Help!
I have been having all kinds of problem with my printer since I moved.
It's a Lexmark Z700-P700, and at first there was a problem with the spooler... but now that I got that fixed by turning it off and then back on again I'm getting other errors.
The latest is that after I updated my driver (since I have XP and this printer was pre XP), I have a message saying that my print monitor is unknown.
I honestly have no clue what to do about this. Any suggestions or help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Terrea

I would start by uninstalling then reinstalling the print drivers/software, check Lexmark's site to see if they have any newer drivers.

Unfortunatly, that did not solve the problem, either.
Thanks for the suggestion, though.
Any others? Anyone?

Try turning off spooling entirely and set it to print directly to the printer. Now shut down the printer, restart the computer and then restart the printer. If that doesn't work, see if Lexmark has an older driver (Windows 2000 or ME) that may work with XP.

This is becoming an impossible task...
I changed the properties to print directly to printer, but when I apply or hit ok I get...
"Printer settings could not be saved. Operation could not be completed."
Is there anyway to get around this?

Ok... I gave up...
I just rolled back my computer to the last time I remember it working right.
Thanks to everyone who replied!

Have you checked out Lexmark's website for your X83?
http://downloads.lexmark.com/cgi-per...cgi&&req=:::::
Select your OS. Notice there is a tab for Utilities, Firmware, Patches, etc. Check all of those by clicking on File Info.
You can find your User's Guides here:
