re-installation questions?

i have just got a new harddrive,and have install win95 and the win98 upgrade.when i
go to msconfig.my startup is for normal,but
there is noting under my config tab and auto
exec tab.should i switch selective startup
to get my config and autoexec setting,what is the worst that can happen if i make the
change,also i kept my win95 files,when i
upgraded.how can i get rid of now?i have 2
files one call uninstall win98 and win98 information.which should go?

actually there shouldn't be anything in config.sys and autoexec.bat after you install windows(other programs later can add things). i have also noted that sometimes there isn't an autoexec.bat file even created.
