nvidia 6800 black screen of Death
Hi there peeps, I have aquired a 6800 nvidia video card that has gone through 3 different owners because it suffers from the black screen of death problem. I have tried the card and sure enough ut2k4 causes hang on black screen or reboot. I have looked into this problem as it is a well known problem but I tried better cooling, lower clock speeds, even as far as to solder a capacitor on like one of the articles said to do. but this dam thing refuses to work. any ideas?

You have more patience than me. I'd consider it toast.

thanks for the input, but I have read on the internet that this is a well known problem with certain 6800's, so I want to try and fix the issue, this card was brought new by my brother about 6 months ago he had it a month and said he had enough so passed to my sister who says she's had enough of the crashes and inturn given it me. What would I need to do to RMA it? unless of course anybody here has 6800 black screen of death experience?
