XP Pro 'Access Denied' installing drivers
Hi,
I have 14 new Dells and HP d220s on a LAN ... the Dells are the newest additon, all XP Pro w/SP2 .
Problem: When I try to install printer drivers on the Dells, the installation fails every time with 'Access Denied', and some variation, either from XP or a message from the driver program, that the printer was not installed.
I need to put Oki, Zebra and HP LaserJet drivers these Dells -- I also tried an HP 1400 USB printer.. same, "Access Denied" ever time. All drivers installed easilly on the HPs.
I've changed permissions using regedt32, as well as in Computer Management.. giving Users permissions of Power Users. Logging in as Administrator and and trying to install any drivers still generates the "Access Denied" message..
Anyone seen this before??
Any ideas?

Hi Enkidu, can you take a screenshot of the exact error (post it here via www.tinypic.com). The simplest reason is that the user needs admin rights, or needs to be the admin user to install the printer.
