As Kerio Free bites the dust .. Recommends for free firewall s/w please

    CUSTOMER ALERT
Kerio Personal Firewall is being discontinued on December 31, 2005. While Kerio will continue to support this product for all customers through 2006, we will not be actively developing any new features or functionality going forward.
.. my 'fave' free Software Firewall product too.

This though, is what happens to good free stuff, it evolves into paid stuff ..

So time to re-evaluate my position .. what else is there then besides ZA ?

Kerio Personal Firewall (KPF) helps users control how their computers exchange data with other computers on the Internet or local network. Within an organization, Kerio Personal Firewall prevents a single computer from attacks initiated by internal users. Remote workstations and laptops running KPF are protected from Internet born attacks.

Sunbelt Kerio Personal Firewall 4 can run in a free mode vs. a full (paid) mode. Install it now, and for the first 30 days it will run in 'full' mode. After that, it shuts down selected features, but will continue to run in 'free' mode".

Download: Kerio Personal Firewall v4.2.3.912 (Non-Commercial Freeware)
    Homepage: Sunbelt Software

Well it still exists, but not in any way we want

ZoneAlarm is good IMO, I use the paid version and the free version.

    There is OutPost as well.

Sygate has a free one as well, but Symantec bought them, and might not continue the free firewall, just integrate it, into their own product.

Tiny S/W as well had a free version, not anymore

ZoneAlarm is very secure, but the free version requires quite a bit of training. Automatic configuration is only an option with the paid version.

Can anyone confirm that Outpost is free after the first 30 days, I thought this did like kerio did, was fully functional for the trial & then dropped some additional features like ad blocking etc, but looking at their website, I can find no mention of a free version in any shape or form ..

    Ghost Wall?

Does anyone have any experience with this free firewall?

It has been (highly) recommended to me. I have not checked out myself, yet, though.
