PDF Problems
I have a client that is having trouble with PDF's. her Adobe Acrobat Printer will start processing a file and then pause part way through.
I did a search and found where Adobe recommended changing some files that could corrupt and cause the problem. I did this and it started working in some applications but not others. (ie Word)
I tried a repair on Adobe. This did not fix it. I uninstalled Adobe (Acrobat Standard 6 by the way... 6.03) and then decided to try pdf creator to see how it worked. I installed it and tried printing off an Ascii txt file and it got partway through processing and stopped. (I porint it and then try to view it, and then not being able to find it, I go into printers and find it showing as maybe 2/3 of the job processed/recieved and it never changes)
The computer is well protected and she only does work on it. I feel confident that it has no malware.

PDF Creator is a separate program from Adobe Acrobat. It is an open source PDF Printer/converter.

Out of curiosity, how much RAM does this system have and what is the Windows cache set to?

1024 MB minus 16-32MB for Video. Swap file is either auto or if manual is set pretty high (2048MB)

is this on any printer? or just hers? or are you printing to a file to create the PDF?
We had an issue here a while back that was similar, the lexmark service was causing the problem. Check the dependancies of the print spooler...

Which version of Ghostscript do you use with PDF creator?
