1.2 petabytes thumbdrives?
American inventor, Michael Thomas, has figured out a way to greatly increase the amount of storage to 1.2 petabytes. That's the equivalent of 2097
500 gig harddrives or about 357,913,941 MP3s. That's pretty big, huh? He expects to have it ready in about 2 years for $750.00. Here's the link to the article: http://www.mobilemag.com/content/100/313/C6555/ . Very cool.

Oh my god...
THAT IS GONNA BE A LOT OF FREAKIN MEMORY ON A COMPUTER!
I will definitely get that when it comes out. One is what most people will only need. That is gonna be awesome... I can't wait.
EDIT: Need bigger hard drives.

Well honestly something like this could translate to giant harddrives as well. Perhaps soon PCs about the size of portable DVD players will be the norm or maybe they will be like the Macs that have everything right in the monitor.

It's based on the "Atomic Switch" sounds kinda corny like something a bad actor in a SF B movie might say... will be very interesting to watch the development of this

Great Googly Moogly! Then they wire the Holographic Optical computer system directly into our optic nerves, and voila! true Plug Heads and the Matrix!
