Is there a program out there that you can run that will list what type of hardware is in a machine? Like what audio card or video card is in the machine to help narrow down the list of drivers to look for?

I didn't recommend this one only for one reason: no longer offered/supported by Lavalys and may not detect all the latest hardware. It was called AIDA32 before.

Shame too, since it was one of the best out there.

I just realised I don't know what the current capabilities of the Belarc Advisor are, it always relied too much on the Windows equipment list rather than doing the actual hardware analysis of Everest/Aida.

It is unfortunate that the free Everest Home was abandoned, but at least for some time most people will still be needing to investigate older systems that the last free release still understands.
