folder options don't hold between boot
I'm having a weird annoyance. For the control pannel I like to look at all the different apps as icons. I have gone into folder options and under view I have selected remember each folders settings but for some reason every time I reboot the machine it forgets and displays as details. There must be some way to fix this. Any ideas?
Also, is there some way to configure how explorer will open. I.e. select the folders and files that you want displayed each time you open. I would like to get a big level disk perspective in my folders on the left side so c:\drive would be there but not opened and in the right side have all the files in c:\program files displaying. so, the directory that it's displaying on the right is not highlighted on the left, although you can get to it by licking on the c:\drive. Thanks

Folder Options
In control panel go into folder options and check the box that says "remember each folders view settings. Then go to your toolbar, pick view, then click on the type view you want to have. The next time use start control panel it will remember this setting.

Hello :rss
Have you tried under control panel ,folder options, restore defaults, apply,
reboot your computer then...Try your options again?
Please, give people a chance being rude is not becoming when someone is offering their help.

Find this registry key in HKCU
Software\microsoft\windows\shellnoroam\bagsMRU
delete it and reboot, the key will be recreated and folders will now behave as you expect them to.
