    big problem

I have a problem on my computer i'm not sure if this is the right forum but that's the one i tough was the best... So yesterday i downloaded avast (i don't want to pay for it so i dl the trial version) but then avast scanned my computer and it said there was viruses i tried to fix them but it said it did'nt work so i deleted them but now my computer is like 5 times slower than usual and since this morning i cannot access a lot of things (ex:winmp, limewire, steam, config pannel, all of my games and at the bottom right of my screen there is only 2 icons left the 7 others were all deleted) i wonder if this is the doing of a damned viruse or because there are some missing files and what should i do. Please help me asap. Hoh btw avast is not running on my comp and i cannot access it, so i can't scan my comp

    Try Scanning from these websites:

    http://www.ewido.net/en/

    and/or

    http://www.bitdefender.com/

and see if they can detect and clean you out.

Ok i've reformated and my comp appears to be working fine now... but i am missing a file in my windows browser it's : mswrd832.cn_ the cd is in a bad state and i cannot copy the file, is anybody kind enough to tell me where i can get that file and where does it go? also i tried to install windows xp sp2 but the cd was a bit broken too and it said that some components might not work correctly, can this affect my computer in some way? i'm gonna download the updates soon but i need another connection.

Is limewire that bad as long as you only download music and where can i get Norton? i don't have a job yet ;( so i can't really afford much things

Avast! is a notorious resource hog. If you have an older or slower system be aware. Just out of curiousity, did you try uninstalling Avast! before you reformatted?
