    'This package requires a newer version of windows installer'

    Thats what message I get when trying to install something but when I click 'ok' all I get is



    Any ideas?

    Looks like you are trying to install the wrong version of windows installer. What program are you trying to install in the first place?

    Dreamweaver 8 Trial.

    That message pops up half way through the installation of DW.

    I tried downloading windows installer 2.0 for Windows 98 as I am on my old comp right now but it said its already installed.

    according to Adobe, Dreamweaver 8 requires either windows 2000 or winxp to install

    Dreamweaver 8 supports Windows® 2000, Windows XP and Macintosh Mac OS® X 10.3 and 10.4. Starting with this release, however, Dreamweaver no longer supports Windows 98, Windows 2000 Server, Windows 2003 Server, or Macintosh OS 10.2.x or earlier.
