    Resolved [RESOLVED] Help loading win98

    When I upgrade from 95 to 98 my CD player and my CD-r both won't work, can you tell me what may be causing this problem?

    Check the Windows Device Manager for any trouble lights. You can get there by going to the control panel - system icon - device manager tab. If Windows 98 setup didn't install drivers for your IDE controllers correctly you may have problems with your CD-ROM drive(s).

    do they show up in device mangler??

    if they do then uncheck the dma boxes for each of them as this is the biggest killer of cd drives in 98

    Update all the drivers for your motherboard also.
