    O23 - Service: Remote Packet Capture Protocol v.0 (experimental) (rpcapd) - Unknown owner - %ProgramFiles%\WinPcap\rpcapd.exe" -d -f "%ProgramFiles%\WinPcap\rpcapd.ini (file missing) <<<< have a look here and see if you recognise the program as a legit install.

    There are a bunch of 023 entries with file missing... these could represent incomplete or corrupt install. I know Macafee can slow a machine down if it gets its knickers in a twist - might be worth uninstalling and reinstalling. Same goes for java.

    Nothing jumps out as most definitely spyware, but he has a shedload of stuff opening and loads of plugins.

    MIght be worth getting the taskmanager plugin for processes called quck access - you install it and then when you want to know what a process belongs to, click the i icon in blue down the left of process dialogue and it will launch the browser and get details for you - saves a lot of typing into google!
    Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."

    I know, I felt the same way regarding the spyware. Yes, he does run vpn. Thanks. It's good to have a "third eye" regarding this.

    Other than what NooNoo has mentioned, the only thing I see that is odd is this:
    O20 - Winlogon Notify: wat874 - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\wat874.dll

    and this:

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {4E86A50B-A7FF-4cae-B8B7-28A13B6D46F0} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\wat874.dll
    wat974.dll does not have any reference in google that I can find, but this:
    {4E86A50B-A7FF-4cae-B8B7-28A13B6D46F0}
    looks like it could be a reference to w32/darksma generic (E Trust designation..I think its the same as a trojan conhook at trend micro)
