The new build seems to have that problem fixed - I just finished installing the 32-bit version of Vista on it and the Marvell card is working just fine now. AFAIK it's always been fine in the 64-bit version.

I give up!!
Well I attempted to install Vista RC-1 on my second drive , both my xp drive and my Vista drive were plugged in, I instructed Vista to install on the Vista drive ( Second physical drive )
The Install went along fine all up until it was time to load the video driver for my 7950 gx-2 , I did not get a stop error, Just a black screen and the hard drive light blinking like a turn signal on a car
The fans on my video card revved right up as well
So this is progress, I refuse to tear apart my system just to install an OS, Unless there is an incompatibility between my Asus A8N-SLI premium and the video card
Since I could not complete setup ,Safe mode and the command prompt were not available to me
I find that Vista seriously tweaks you MBR and slows the boot process in XP , Remember my XP is on the first physical drive
When I ran Sohpius anti rootkit with my antivirus disabled it found 2 files and treated them as rootkits, these were on the vista drive
I had to boot off of my xp cd to remove the boot loader that Vista places on the drive, When I ram fixmbr, I was told I did not have a normal partition table or something to that effect
I was able to fix that up
But when I run Rootkit revealer it finds 12 descepancies on my xp drive , there arr some new files that I can not delete
Is M$ now using rootkits in their OS, If that is the case I am going to Linux
I have given up on Vista and may never buy ti after seeing this kind of trash, I now get to reinstall my OS and it may be Linux
I am planning an upgrade in January and I thought I could try Vista before it launches, I guess XP will be running on the new upgrade and not Vista, especially of those file are rootkits
Off to format my drive
Format c I'm givin er all she's got cap'in !!! )

That's quite an accusation Format C
When you have downloaded and attempted to install RC2, are the same files still there? Given the level of paranoia out there, I would think that rootkits in vista would have been found long before this.
I don't suppose you examined your drives with your sophos tool before you installed vista rc1? Could it be that sophos has mistaken these files for the anti-rootkit security vista includes?

Hi Noo
This aparrent rootkit problem has only happened with Vista RC-1 build 5600 and the RC-1 refresh
and they are the same files
I used rootkit revealer to discover these files, I ran the md5 checksum on the isos before buring them
I sitll have to try RC 2 but first I am backing up and wiping my XP drive , then I will see if those same files are showing up

Got Vista RC-2 working OK, No problems during install, I wonder if these files rootkit revealer is finding is some sort of new boot sector technology MS is trying with Vista
I have noticed Vista does not had an ntldr file or a boot ini file in the root directory
Now to see of my xfi card is supported in this latest build

SLI wasn't supported on pre-RC2 builds as far as I remember.
