Printer install probs
Hi,
My aunt has just bought a new printer coz her old one packed up. Its an HP 3900series. I cant get it to install. Her computer is really old, its an K6 running 98 with 64Mb RAM. I run the extractor pack then click install and it gives me a kernel error in user.dat(i think). Is there anyway i can just install the .inf files or whatever i need so she can use the printer. Cheers

according to the system requirements for the printer you need 98SE
The 98 original edition will not allow the install.

Ive just tried it with a clean install of 98SE (sorry forgot to mention that). Just tried again and got a different error this time. Can you think of anything else that would cause it. Do ya think a different OS would help like 2000?

Cheers for the help, i got it sorted. Turns out the computer doesnt meet minimum specs. It requires 233mhz proc, and this is registering at 232mhz. So i adjusted the config.ini file for installation and it went on no probs.
