How to re-allocate unallocated space

the exact steps to use disk management If this does not do it, then the linux partition is not as unallocated as windows thinks....

you have two unformatted partitions of 7gb and 502mb... or at least, they appear to be unformatted. If they are empty, remove the partition on the 502mb and see if it adds to the unallocated space. If it doesn't linux did something that windows doesn't understand.

These two partitions are the Linux partitions.

Panhead, have you tried any disk partitioning utilities like Ranish Partition Manager Acronis Disk Director, Partition Magic, etc.?

I managed to recover the unallocated space with Partition Manager.

Was gonna suggest partition magic, ive had this problem in the past. I think its down to windows not recognising the EXT2/3 format that linux uses, but partition magic can. Glad ya got it sorted
