DVD drive acting up with 2nd DVD
Kind of a cryptic header isn't it. Ok this prob is second hand but I'll give as much info as I can. The main problem has to do with loading a game that uses 2 dvd's to load from. From what I understand the program gets into the second dvd of the game and then locks up. Now we have succfully loaded both dvd's on a diff. computer and we have tried a new dvd drive on the ide cable and also one on an ext usb cable. The owner believes he needs the following ""Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller" for an "ASUS 8N32-SLI Deluxe" motherboard" but can't find this anywhere. He is using an Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe BIOS version 1303 mobo. Can anybody shed some light on this? Chris P.

You need to install the chipset drivers available for that board at Asus to get the functionality you want.
I am assuming that the dvd drive he is using takes the disks 1 at a time (or is it one disk in one drive, and the other in another?)
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."
