    London Calling... Vacation advice needed

    Hi All,
I am going to be in london for 3 days and wanted to hear as many suggestions as I can.
My wife and I are premiraly interested in Historical locations and/or Museums.
I know 3 days are not much but thats the most that we can stay (later we are going to Ireland - and if you have recommendation for this trip I would be thankful twich ).

Second priority would be "Romantic" sight seeing (as this is our honey moon).

We already took care of accomadation for the 3 days (family...), so this is covered up.

    Have a good Week,
    Gabriel

London is great. Love it. You have an exciting time ahead of you!

But three days..... So much to see! So little time!

Here is a pretty good online guide book that might help you with planning:

    http://www.londontourist.org/

A good, inexpensive hotel with a convenient location:

http://www.lancaster-hall-hotel.co.uk/ (Run by the German YMCA. Plain but very clean. Good buffet breakfast included.)

    Have fun!

    Romantic?

What do you call Romantic? For example, I know one couple who thought the london dungeon was the most romantic place to go...

    A boat trip?
    Old Buildings?
    Churches?
    Castles and Palaces?

Then you have to do St Paul's Cathedral If you can make it up the 259 steps to the Whispering Gallery, that's fun to do to!

and buck house is supposed to be good, but I have never done it.

and of course the tower of london

All of those will occupy the greater part of a day, depending on where you are staying...

    How about shopping?

    I dislike shopping...
I prefer spending my money on the museums and history location.
But I believe a few recommendation would be generous

You may do, but I was thinking about the wants/needs of your partner....

Oxford Street has all the big names, if you get me something a little more concrete like street markets or posh shops or mainstream shopping I can get a little more focussed.

Exactly when are you going? There are a number of shows you might want to try for... Don't buy from ticket touts, the tix are likely to be fake.

Noo has some great ideas. I would definitely recommend going to the "Tower of London."

Picadilly Circus had some fun shopping.

    Oh I Like you thinking
We are going to be from 02 April to 05 april (noon) .

And you are right - I don't speak american (my english teachers were - one Australian and One south african...). The only american english I "absorb" comes from family in the US when they come to visit.

    Cheers,
    Gabriel

If you like gardens, you can't go too far wrong with Kew Gardens:
