Need for Speed Carbon
I can not get this game installed on my system. I've used msconfig to disable all startup programes and unneeded services yet I still get an error message saying I don't have direct x installed! dxdiag runs properly? I believe I have 9c installed.

THANKS FOR THE LINK! I'll try this later today. The link does confuse me, in that it indicates I need to download direct x again and install? Or are they just trying to get me to run the installation program in compatibility mode. That seems more logical?
Sorry for not understanding better.

Compatability - when you run dxdiag from the 'start', 'run' area it tells you what version dx you have on the first display page at the bottom of all the info.
If that mode doesn't work let us know - tx

ps: they say in the demo notes that NVIDIA cards were tested using ForceWare driver version 91.47 (Win2k/XP). It is highly
recommended this driver or a more recent version be used when running

Installing in compatibility mode for win 2000 did the trick I now can and have played the game. Thanks for the help!
